Scope mount for a Saiga in .308 Winchester?
I'm looking for an accessory to mount an optic on my Saiga .308. I've looked at quad rail systems and have found that they'll cost over half of the actual rifle. Since this is unacceptable, I'm willing to settle for a picatinny rail. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck finding a rail that will fit the Saiga .308. Does anyone know a specific brand that is compatible with this rifle? I'm willing to pay around $100 for a decent rail. I will probably be mounting a decently priced ACOG scope. Yes I know that I'll be paying a lot for an ACOG, but I'm more willing to pay a lot for an optic than a rail system. Thanks for any info.
I don't like mounting optics on the front end of an AK because it makes it so unbalanced. If you do want to do this see if an UltiMAK gas tube replacement will fit on the Saiga. Otherwise Kalinka Optics has the best side rail mount. Here's the low one so you get some cheek weld:

But if you want to see your iron sight under the mount, then this higher one will do:

Putting an $800+ ACOG in a $500 Saiga seems a little mismatched, especially when you don't want to fork over a couple hundred for the quad rail system. Of course you can mount any optics on the mounts that I mentioned and Kalinka also has other tradition Russian mounts and optics.
