Is it safe to take on an airplane?
I'm going on a cross-country flight to visit family soon. I bought a special aluminum baseball bat for my nephew as a gift. It's small enough that I can fit it into my suitcase. Will the bat be okay in the suitcase as long as the suitcase goes on underneath the plane and not as a carry-on? Or will there be problems when the workers check my suitcase before they put it in the underneath storage area ?
You should be fine; like the others above me state, it's perfectly acceptable to take most items on a plane as long as it's stored underneath where no one but the authorized workers can have access to it. If you're nervous about or worried about it every airline offers a 1-800 number to call and ask questions. I'd do that if you're still unsure or wary about bringing it aboard.
