What are some good army combat boot brands?
Im in JROTC at my high school, and we used to have boots, but they took them back for some reason. I want a good pair of my own to go with my BDU but i dont know enough about them to know what brands are good and what arent. Help?
Im not sure of the type of boots, but the ones they gave us at first were really nice, and the tag said it is the same brand they use in the Army. For color, im looking for ones that are sort of Tan colored, like the color they use for the army and marines.
I have had extraordinarily good luck with the Belleville brand. Hundreds of thousands of these are in circulation.
The best and most expensive brand is Danner but these go for over $200 easy.
Probably the best place to buy them is over Ebay or Belleville.com
Keep in mind there is the so called summer version and the goretex winter version. If you are in hot clime, then the summer version is the best and if its cold, then the goretex boots is not only waterproof buy keeps the toes warm.
How do I know all this? I wore both types of boots for years and wore both types in 24 months in Iraq and Afghanistan
There are other brands also that are good but I believe these are the best. Since cash might be tight, I'd recommend Belleville.
On the summer boots, if you have for example size 10 you need to buy 9.5 whereas in goretex, you need to buy 1/2 size HIGHER if you can believe that.
Does this answer your question, yes or no?
