My Army issued ACU...?
has a Velcro tab that I can pull down on either sleeve, and underneath it, there is a shinny black patch about 2 cm. I didn't find any on my ACU pants, just the two on the jacket. What is it?

OK, to be clear, I got the ACU from a friend who was just discharged, I could have asked him, yes, but I figured Yahoo! would be faster. I could swear my boyfriend says "hoorah", not "hooah" so I'll be sure to ask him about that. I will be in the Army in 2 years, so I'll learn from the criticism. Thanks.

It's a tag that allows you to be seen as friendly at night - they don't work with the fake ACU's you get off installation so get your uniforms at the clothing and sales.
