Any personal complaints about Sig Sauer?
I saved up and finally bought the Sig I've been looking for, the P239 .40 SAS. It's an absolutely beautiful piece, two-tone w/ wood grips. The hammerless frame is perfect for conceal and carry which is why I bought it.
Are you ready for this? I hate it. I also can't believe that I'm this disappointed in a pistol that I looked forward to purchasing for so long.
At 45 years old I thought I knew what I was getting because I also currently own many other pistols, everything from Glock to Ruger to Baretta and enjoy shooting them all the time. But this P239 is just JUNK! The slide is weak, the trigger feels like youre pulling a tractor and the mags (both of them) have jammed several times when the last few rounds are near the top of the clip.
Has anyone else made a Sig purchase only to be let down like this?
So, I have not had the complaints you have. In fact, I had the Sig shop do some work on my 226 that went very smoothly, so I think that Sig service will take care of the mag/malfunction issues with your gun.
However, I have also intentionally NOT purchased an SAS, DAK or the new 250 DAO trigger guns for exactly the reason that they feel much like, "you are pulling a tractor". This is a characteristic of those triggers, they are heavy, but in my experience relatively smooth. However, unless you practice with them they are much unlike shooting anything else, unless it is a double action revolver. Particularly if you are used to DA/SA or SA guns those triggers are a significant transition.
In my research, and in my opinion, Sig has been pretty fair about the descriptions and such for those triggers, so I can understand your disappointment, but I'm not entirely sure that's their fault.
I'm not sure what you mean by, "the slide is weak". If you mean it has an excessively light recoil spring, then I'm sure Sig will take care of that for you as well.
