Okay for a 10 year old boy to wear a studded belt?
My son got one of those over sized belt buckles for Christmas. He doesn't have the kind of belt where you can attach your own buckle, so I promised I would get him one. Thought he would be happy with a plain black leather belt, but he wants one of those wide studded belts. He tried a couple on at the mall today and they seem really heavy and awkward, but he insists that's what he wants. I don't want to buy something that's just going to end up hanging in the closet. Other parents, please share your experience with this sort of thing. Should I get him a studded belt or insist that he wears a plain belt.
I don't see any harm not letting him try it out. Lots of kids, at least where I live, have been going for that style. There's no harm in trying it out. If he ends up not liking it, hey, its only a belt. They don't cost too much. But be careful of where you buy them, places like Hot Topic may have them but they break easily from there.
