I dropped my knife in the campfire and burned the blade black. How can I fix it?
The blade is burned black but the handle is fine. Can I just polish it or what?
You should be able to just polish it out however, there could be damage to the steel depending on how hot the fire was and how long it was in there. Heat can adversely affect the hardness of the metal.
