Question about the Ruger Vaquero.?
I was thinking about buying a ruger Vaquero. I like some of the features on the new style. But I'm worried about the balance, and how it feels in me hand. no store has one around here so I'll have to order it. Can anyone explain how it feels to me? The old style ruger looker like it has a thicker grip. I like a nice thick grip. Like on the 50th single six .22. that has a perfect grip. But I hate the feel of the New Model Blackhawk® Convertible. The grip is hardly there and the gun seems nose heavy to me. I want to get into fast draw, the 50th single six .22 would be perfect as far as the balance, and grip. the gun seems to point it's self. But it is to small a cal. for fast draw. So what are you thoughts on the vaquero, new and old.
I own and shoot Colt Single Action Army which the new model Vaquero is designed to emulate and an Old Model Vaquero Bisley. I find the two guns to be similar in the way they handle and shoot.
You may want to see if you can find an Old Model Vaquero and see how it feels. There are still a few around but they are getting hard to find.
The old model Vaquero is built on the Blackhawk frame and can the very heavy loads. You may find the Bisley grips and hammer to your liking; I did.
