What do I need to start Turkey hunting?
I have a 12 gauge so the gun isn't a problem. I'm not sure what else I need to have. I have a ground blind but its made for fall deer hunting and I'm not sure if it will work for spring turkey hunting. What type of clothing will I need? I have realtree ap hd camo but I'm not sure if that will work? What type of calls will I need for it? Basically, what is a list if things I will need for it?
regullar boots
camo shirt and pants.(dress heavy or light according to temo.)
face mask
slate call or mouth call. both takes practice to get right but have the same sound.
plenty of shells
female decoy and male decoy.
crow call will also help locate the birds so you know where to set up.
and most of all scout alot. find out where they are and where they roost so you wont spook them out of roost in the morning.
be quiet and dont move cuz they will see you if you do.
and set up at least 15 yards away from you decoys.
the camo you have will work fine. thats what i have.
so adding that up if you dont have any of the eqipment yet it will be about 30 bucks. plus gas money ha ha.
have fun turkey season always makes me excited
