Maggots in cat bowl!?!?
Ok so i put some cat food in my cats bowl this morning (whiskas food pouches, wet food) and then went to work, when i came back the bowl was full of maggots!? Luckily she did not eat any because a plastic bag had fallen over it somehow?? In 16 years of having my cat ( i am 20 and have only been her sole carer for a year after my parent died) this has never happened? I am really worried and paranoid about the fact that there was a bowl full of maggots in my house. The thought makes me feel ill! It was a really hot day..is it just because flies go in it?
yeah yu got maggots because of the flies they've laid eggs and because it was really warm the stinky meat would of drawn the flies. My mom did this she tried to tempt the cat outside though and left the bowl of food the cat wouldn't go out but she left it and scared herself when there was maggots.
Just give it a really good wash after disposing of the food
