Why dose my Maadi ak-47 rip shells in half?
every 30-40 rounds i fire i end up with a broken shell stuck in the chamber and i have to use a broken shell extractor iam fireing 7.62x39mm wolf steal cased ammunition but it has also happend with brass cases from wal-mart. it is the Maadi S/A post ban but it has the regular ak furniture on it not the thumb hole stock i believe imported by CIA so its not the real styer import. but still it should fire like a Normal ak-47right? it has made by Maadi company in Egypt imported CAI written on the side of the gun. dose it have to do with the bore being to tight like the head space being off or what? it is very annoying. please help =o
First, thoughroughly clean the gun and the chamber (for this latter you will need a .45 cal cleaning brush, as the cartridge casing is larger in diameter than the bore). Inspect the chamber using a light. if it looks good, move to the next step. Find a couple or three boxes of Remington brassed cased 7.62X39. Shoot them. If the problem persists, take the rifle to a gunsmith. If it doesn't, stop using cheap cased imported ammo.
