Can military camo netting be dyed? What is it made out of?
I'm in a band and I need camo netting for the backdrop, which I have, but it's green and it has to be black. Just wondering if it can be dyed, and if so, with what? And more specifically HOW do I do it?
Honestly, it would depend of the material !! I have a 40 foot square of camo-netting here at the ranch we use as a sun-shade... you couldn't dye it because it's synthetic. I got it during the Gulf War
However, older netting would be hemp, silsa, manila, and or burlap and would be capable of accepting dyes... although you'd need a HECK of a tub, and plenty of room to hang it out and dry it !!
I'd take a small sample of the material to a fabric store and as one of the knowledgeable folks there !!
Sorry I can't be more specific. GOOD LUCK.
