I am looking for a good first rifle.?
I want it to be a .22lr (I really like pistol caliber carbines, but I don't see many in production ie. ruger PC4), bolt or semi auto, no tube magazines, accurate,rugged, scope able but has iron sights, is under 250$, has a wood stock, and isn't single shot. I don't want to upgrade anything. I was looking at the stainless ruger 10/22 rifle with the 22inch barrel and flared walnut stock (230$). A remington 597 with a laminate stock (160$). And a basic Savage MKII for 180$.
Go with the Ruger 10/22. It has a load of accessories and it's extremely reliable.
