Gun case as carry on for flight? Used to carry art?
I am moving and have an extensive fragile and valuable art collection of small Japanse carvings. I came up with the idea of using small pistol, or gun cases. They have a hard shell and have lots of foam cushioning. My art collection is valued at $120,000 and there is no way in helll I'll be checking it in. Is there any rule or law against carrying a gun case with this much art on board a flight? Thanks, Kate
It is ok if you don't mind everyone from TSA to fellow passengers asking if you are packing heat. Be sure to take the gun out before you leave for the airport. Remember, it will have to fit in overhead bin if space is left there or seat in front of you. Be sure you don't get a bulkhead seat with no room to store stuff. Also get to gate and board as soon as you are called or the overheads might fill up before you get there.
I've carried gun cases on board with out the gun of course. I was treated like a borderline physco.
