I need a value for a 1953 .22 Marlin Rifle...?
I asked this question earlier and didn't really receive the reply I was hoping for. I need a replacement value on a 1953 .22 Marlin Rifle with scope and carrying case. It was my Dad's (who passed away 2 years ago, so I can't ask him) and it was stolen from my house last week. The insurance company needs a value and I don't know the first thing about it. All I know is the above info and that my Dad received it brand new, and he was the only owner. He took very good care of it. Does anyone know anything about these rifles or can you point me to a website that can help me out? Thank you.
A 1953 Marlin lever action model 39A in excellent condition would sell for about $400, maybe more. Even though Marlin still makes them, the older ones have collector value and are high quality, desirable guns. Go to the site below, and type in Marlin 39A in the search box and peruse the results.
