My bare eyed cockatoo likes to wander around the house?
Yes, we have 'too proofed the condo. So, would it be safe to place small bell (cat bell for collar) on his leg band so I can hear when he leave cage? No lectures, please.
Thanks you Zaza. My insides are telling me it not good idea, too. But my wife tink it good idea. My too, like all toos loves to chew. He ate part of the chair my wive just buying so she want to know his whereabouts.

no it's not a good idea to place a bell on his band, in fact its not a good idea to keep his band on him at all. We have an umbrella cockatoo and we took his band off this year because our vet urged us to. he said he gets about 2-3 birds a year who break their legs because their band gets hooked on a toy or part of the cage and they move, jump or whatever and it breaks their leg or can injury them, so i would think adding something to the band would only add to this danger/risk.
good luck and i hope you figure out something. maybe get one of those rugs that play music when you step on it so when the bird climbs down it makes sounds....
