I'm 14,I carry a 3 in. fold-able pocket knife in Cali?
Its pretty much for just making any tasks I might encounter easier, examples:Stepped in dog poo?no sticks around?wham, pocket knife.
Cant open this stupid bottle/can/package?Wham,pocket knife
OF course if a mountain lion appears on a wooded trail I will not think Twice about using it,or a life or death situation with a human, but only under extreme circumstances,so is it illegal for me to have it clipped, visibly on my belt/pocket?
well id scrape my shoe, then pick out the stuck crap, then whipe it off duh
There is no California law which prohibits anybody of any age from possessing a folding knife (not a switchblade) openly or concealed. However, if the blade is 2.5 or longer you cannot have it at school. (Pen C 626.10.)
There may be some applicable local ordinance, however. You should check on that.
BTW, never use a folding knife as a weapon. The reason they are not regulated as strictly as fixed blade knives is because they are useless as a weapon. They close and cut off your fingers. The danger is there also when used improperly as a tool (for instance, in trying to remove a bottle cap).
