Colt revolver date of mfg. and history?
I'm looking for a web site or an address to which I can write where I can obtain information on the history of a Colt revolver. I am trying to trace the history of my Colt king Cobra .357 caliber revolver. This model is, I believe, now discontinued from the Colt line. I tried the Colt website but I didn't seem to have much luck. If anyone knows of a site where you can do this say by serial number or where you can get a factory letter detailing(as much as possible) the history of a particular firearm please let me know.

You can actually contact Colt and they can issue you a certificate or report that states what they know about your Colt pistol. These reports on older Colts are tons of fun. They state the dates and where the gun was shipped and in some cases to who. Anyhow, it's 300.00 per serial number.
Also check out Coltforum.com: There is a lot of serious colt collectors on that site who could probably help more.

edited: here is the info to contact Colt about getting an Archive report on your firearm. I would probably check on the Coltforum first. There is a number you can call but I don't have it written down. The lady you talk with could probably help more.
