How strong is caulk - will it hold a pane of glass?
Here's my problem:
A pane of glass is missing from my garage door - it broke at some point. It fit a little crack between little rubber flaps. I can't simply pull the rubber back and squeeze in a new pane of glass. I tried pull back on it, and the rubber flap broke (old and hardened, but decent). So I'm thing I will use a box cutter to cut off the the perimeter of the rubber flab on the back side then set the pane of glass inside. Then, I'm thinking I could use caulk (or something similar - suggestions?) and to seal and secure the pane of glass back in place. Do you think caulk would be strong enough? Or should I use something stronger? Silicon or something?
Those are a pain in the ...Difficult to replace. You need to get ahold of your garage door company and get the frame thingy. They are not supposed to be reused. They cost 14$ per window (With glass in it) to replace from the Overhead Door Co. You kind of need to bang them in. http://www.doityourself.com/stry/garage-door-window-replacement-instructions
