PAPER HEADBOARD?
Hello! Need a quick headboard. Well maybe, instant headboard under $50. I am looking for a vinyl wall sticker headboard (big sticker) for an adult chic vintage bedroom decorated with touches of damask. I know that I could probably get a headboard from a thrift shop, but I'd love to get the chance to see if the stickers or decals or murals have a realistic look.
I'm also open to ideas or projects that consist of printing out images from my home computer.
BASICALLY I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF YOU CAN ACHIEVE A REALISTIC STYLISH HEADBOARD USING PAPER OR STICKERS.
Looking forward to your great answers !!!!!!!
I think wallpaper would work best as it is longer than sheets of paper. If you do a checkerboard design though, any thicker paper would be fine.
If you wanted a light wood finish with a design on it, playing around in some photo shop program, you could design it and then print it. Then glue to wall.
You could use foam board or a very large piece of cardboard that you cover, and this way the wall isn't permanant. Could make a two sided headboard, reversible.
Stenciling would be useful, and you may get a stenciling book to look at for free at your local library. Making your own stencils would be cheaper than buying them readymade.
Any kind of paint you have would work since it is indoors.
You may also find a photo in a catalog, magazine or online of the design you like, and recreate it with any of the ideas above. Mix and match just as long as you get the look you are happy with.
I think for realism you would want to have shadows painted in, so it didn't seem so flat, and shading in the designs.
