Ammo Reloader?
I'm 55 and have been a shooter since I was 10, but when it comes to reloading I'm in unfamiliar territory. I'm going to buy a RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme, but I want to buy better accessories than the ones that come with the master kit, digital scales, powder measure, etc. I would really appreciate input from some veteran reloaders on this subject. Thanks .
Thanks for all your great answers, you guys have really helped a lot on this subject. Originally I was going for a Dillon 550 but was told by a reload expert at Cabelas that a rookie starting out on a progressive is like a rookie driving a race car that only turns left. I'm not a bench shooter, but being an exMarine that shot rifle&pistol expert for four years I'm serious about accuracy. Thats why I was concerned about the components of the supreme kit. I'm still open for more comments.
The Rock Chucker is IMHO the finest single-stage press available. I have been using my Rock Chucker for more than 15 years. It looks like crap, but still works like it was new. RCBS's beam-type scale is certainly sufficient for just about any average reloader.
Dillon makes very good equipment as well. If you want a progressive press, I believe there are none better than Dillon's 550.
Both firms offer arguably the best customer service of ANY retailer or manufacturer. You will be pleased with either. Recently I forgot to lube a .223 case and it stuck in my die. I paid the postage and RCBS sent me a new die. They weren't responsible for my error, but they took care of it anyway. These are the kind of people I like to deal with.
