optics for pig hunting at night?
I'm an American hunting in Germany and I'm finding things a whole lot different than home! My big concern right now though is a scope. We night hunt boar and I need a scope to pick up a lot of ambient light and brighten things enough to tell front end from ass end. Everyone here says I HAVE to have a Zeiss, it's all that will do! Frankly though, it's out of my military pay range. I'd like a red dot, for the drive hunts we do as well, so I don't' need two rifles, when the one I've got now is beautiful for both uses.
Anyone have any experience hunting at night and the optics that go with it? Any advice for the stupid American who won't buy a Zeiss?
This is the answer to your problem. Get a laser light that attaches to your present scope in the green version. It will enable you to see the hog in the scope for a distance of 250 yards. And the green laser will not spook the hog and is better night vision for a human then the red laser is. You can get one for around $139. Plus shipping.
Here is a link to the light you need--
