Confused about the differences between Laser sight, Red-dot sight, Laser beam sight.?
Okay. I am looking to buy a laser sight for one of my pellet guns. However, i am not completely sure about what the correct name for the sight i want should be.
what i think so far:
Red-dot: Sight with a red-dot projected on the sight's glass/plastic. almost like cross hairs, except not.
Laser sight: Sight which projects a single laser point onto your target.
Laser beam sight: Sight which projects a whole laser beam from the sight to your target.
am i correct, and is there any other more common names used for these types of sights?
laser and laser beam are the same thing, they both project a solid beam of light to the target, just like a flash light. the only time you will see a beam, is when there is something in the air for the light to hit on the way to the target (fog, dust etc)
