Help me find a decent tactical scope.?
I am looking for a tactical scope for my AR-15. It has a picatinny rail on top. I am looking for magnification, not a red dot. I like the thought of something like the Mark III 2-7 magnification from NcStar. Of course I understand this is a cheap scope and you get what you pay for. I would like to find something like this, better quality, but not to expensive. I am thinking around $200-$250, not $500. If you have any thoughts on the NcStar let me know what you think about that as well. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I am a long time military competition shooter.
Save yourself allot of time and trouble - check out the BSA 'Sweet 223' and stick that on your AR. It has a built in BDC - bullet drop compensator that once calibrated will allow you to instantly move the zero from 50 yards to 500 yards. It comes in two flavors - 4-12x and 6-18x. The 4-12x is perfect for varmint, hunting and target shooting. The 6-18x is target shooting only - you will not like it for hunting or varmint.
One huge advantage of this scope - no messing with mil dot and estimating ranges.
The BSA Sweet series are good scopes - but - they aint no Leupold or Nikkon. The optics are good - you won't be disapointed. You can check them out at Cabella's and Midwayusa.com online.
Hope this helps
