Water heater problem part 2. Can you help me?
I have a A.O. Smith gas water heater that has shut off due to the pressure switch being disconnected. Thanks to the guys that answered my previous question, i was able to find out that a small black tube about 8 inches long 1/4 inch diameter could not connect properly to the blower fan. So i cut a piece off the tube but it still will not hold onto the nipple. So i looked around for more clues with my flashlight. on the floor was a inch piece of plastic that was supposed to be part of the "nipple" and hold the tubing. Now i tried many times to connect the nipple together but it wont come to together since somehow it was snapped .
M y question is can that piece, the nipple" be easily replaced or somehow fixed with a new nipple to to connect the tube?
I hope you guys can understand me , as i do not come from a construction/plumbing background.
Thanks again
Yes a service man can replace the nipple easily. If you wish to this yourself Than take your pliers and unscrew the nipple and go to your local plumbing house with the old nipple and they will match it up for you. Also get a little bit of plumbers tape (teflon tape) to wrap the threads before you install and you'll be off to the races. Good luck
Richard
