Need help with my paddle holster?
I have recently purchased a Fobus Paddle Holster (made from kydex). However, I have a problem when I draw the weapon. The entire holster comes out with the weapon. This doesn't happen on every draw and is unpredictable as to when it will happen. I have tightened my belt but still no improvement. Am I doing something wrong or is this common for paddle holsters? Any advice on how to correct this is also needed.
While they look convenient over the years I have learened to hate paddle, small of the back and shoulder holsters. Kydex, leather or polymer, makes no diff.
There is a small nub on the paddle and on the actual holster, make sure you are putting the holster deep enough so those nubs are below the belt line. for comfort and draw you may have to adjust the angle, use an allen wrench to loosen/tighten the nut where the paddle attaches to the holster.
You may also be over tightening your belt. You need almost a duty belt for support, at least 1/4 wide and a fairly heavy leather.
Hate s-o-b's because two friends carried their back up there and both got serious back injuries when the fell back on their back ups while in fights with bad guys. Shoulder because in every foot chase the gun went flying out, no matter what system used to secure.
