thinking about buying a mossberg 500 for home protection?
i was thinking about buying a pistol grip mossberg 500 for home pretection but not sure how they are. have anyone had any experience with them? hows the recoil compared to a regualar shotgun? how accurate are they? is it better to buy a folding stock or a forend for the pistol grip? how accurate is it with just the forend with original stock and vice versa with folding stock?
Just the pistol grip is a bad idea. Across a room the buckshot spread will be the size of a tennis ball, making it fairly easy to miss.
Get a full stock, or a thumbhole, or a 6-position. Front grip is up to you. Surefire makes a replacement that has a flashlight, it's worth it to keep from accidentally shooting your kids or wife.
