Is the car a4 rifle from rock river arms an ar 15?
I am just curious because I need a fore grip for the rifle that can have attachments such as a bipod or a flashlight. I also need to know where I can find a car a4 fore grip with rail mount capabilities.
I build match AR's.
AR-15's rifles come in two basic flavors - carbines - with 11.5" to 16" barrels that use 'Carbine Length' handguards and quad rails. The other flavor is 'rifle length' and this is what you find on rifles with 18-26' barrels.
Honestly - you should handle a quad rail and see if you like it. It looks 'tacticool' - but unless you love wearing gloves to shoot, the thing is gonna tear your freaking hand up. And when you put the silly rubber protections on it - you now need to have big hands like a gorilla to hang onto it.
What does work - is a quad rail and get a mil spec vertical grip that one push of button and the bipod poops out of the bottom. Very handy, very nice. Tons better than the folding ones that are heavy, get in the way, and not easy to set up.
The good quad rails go for $300+ bucks because your accessories will easily slip on and off, and the will fit your gun perfectly. You get below $90 - and accessories are hard to get on, take off, and you may have to pound that sucker on - and there will be hell to pay to take it off.
If you want a good deal - check out the 'Equipment Exhange' at www.ar15.com for great deals on used parts. Don't rule out ebay - lots of quad rails there too. I buy mine new from www.midwayusa.com
Keep in mind - you get what you pay for. Go visit www.midwayusa.com and write down the names and model numbers of some of the more expensive rails......... then surf over to ar15.com and search for them at the equipment exchange. They only let you search every 60 seconds, so, make it count....... or bring a Snickers bar.
Good Luck
