how can i prevent fleas from spreading?
i just got a new puppie, chihuahua, and i saw black little animals crawling on it's fur..
the animals don't jump so i'm not sure if they're fleas or not
i put the dog in the box and elevated the box
my mom's friend told me to put powder around the box because fleas don't like powder
i had some ant b gone so i put that
is it true that powder prevents the fleas from spreading?
or what else can i do
i have some hartz ultraguard flea and tick
but i just saw a website that gave really bad reviews
so i'm not going to risk the poor puppies health

Do NOT use the ant poison the puppy could inhale it or worse ingest it! The Hartz is crap and your puppy could have a reaction to the Hartz! I use Vectra 3D it starts killing the fleas within one hour. You have to get through the vet and it it goes by weight. It also last for one month. You will need to wash all the bedding and clean your home! For your carpet you can use salt, sprinkle it on the carpet and let it set a two days then vacuum. You may have to use a flea bomb. But just cleaning and treating your puppy is not enough, you must do your home as well!
