i just got my hunters licence, but i have been hunting with my dad for a few years(just watching)
i have a new 4-10 shot gun, is a partridge the only game you can get with a 4-10. i would like to hunt partridge, Turkey, and maybe get rid of some pests (the mean squerls that kill some of the birds at my bird feeders.

A .410 bore shotgun is a very nice gun and will kill any of the animals you have mentioned. The problem is hitting things with one of them because most are built with horrible stock dimensions. They are very handy and pleasant to shoot for small game, light with low recoil, but are also very expensive to shoot. and difficult to wingshoot with.
A .410 is actually an expert's gun, not a beginner's gun when it comes to hunting flying birds but will work just fine for animals on the ground or in a tree. Use it until you can afford a 20 gauge and you will see the cost per shot cut about 40%.
