How do you keep your feet warm (dry) during late season hunts?
Please go beyond the basics- I have tried many different strategies with limited success. I use polypro sock liners, wool blend socks, goretex boots w/1000 grams of thinsulate. I will often change socks when reaching my stand or mid day when still hunting and I have used toe warms too. I also use boot blankets when on stand.
Thx to all for responding.
I guess I failed to mention the powder-tried it. and the boots being too tight was a lesson I learned as a kid ice fishing. I tried electro socks back then too. Maybe they have improved. Tnx Randy.
Anyone hear of using plastic bags to keep the perspiration out of your boots?
I have seen old timers do this- when the get to their stand they take off the bags and wet socks and put fresh socks on.
you have the basics, good water proof boots with thick lining, warm socks, (electric socks with rheostat to adjust temp) work great too. That's all i ever use, and I hunt in the snow and cold a lot.
