question about clean a gun barrel?
ive always cleaned a gun barrel by running a wire brush the same way that the bullet travels. but now im facing some troubles. on this one gun,i cant run it that way. the only way i can run the brush is against the way the bullet travels. ive always ran it from the bolt side to the end of the barrel,but now i have to run this one from the end of the barrel towards the bolt. will that do any harm running it agaisnt the way the bullet travles?
Cleaning from the muzzle end won't hurt the barrel per se, but it will make it easier to nick the crown of the muzzle. You will also be pushing all of the barrel's crud into the magazine/ bolt area.
Instead, stick the rod down the barrel, then screw the brush onto the rod through the ejection port. Pull it back out the muzzle. Take brush off...Repeat.
