What is the value of a Type 17 Pistol with its holster?
I know this is a rare pistol, and this might not be answered
Not many people even know of its existence.
So if you can't give a definite answer then here's some information on the one I'm looking at, and well try to guess a logical answer for it.
I'm looking for value in USD in the market, meaning money value
*Chinese made copy of the Mauser C/96 pistol
*Chambers .45 ACP bullets
*Very well made copy, contrary to belief that China only makes crappy copies.
*Still with it's holster, which doubles as a stock, harder to find than the gun itself.
*Owner tried to convert it to full-auto, but failed, it still works fine, nothings damaged
*8400 was made, most of them were melted for metal, meaning less than 4200 are left.
*Loading it needs a stripper clip, I have no details for it at the moment.

As is often the case, the answer depends on two factors.
First is condition. This has a large effect on the price of the gun. In this class of gun, any alteration reduces the price. A reblue will take off hundreds of dollars. For top dollar, the finish must be the original, and then the value is judged on the condition. A reblued or reworked gun is considered to be in collector poor condition, the same as if all the marks are gone, the gun is pitted with no blue.
The second and sometimes more important consideration is the people intending to purchase the gun. This gun demands the right buyer. To the average Joe on the street, the gun is worth a hundred or so. To the correct collector, who knows.
As to value, these guns are worth between $700 and $2500 or so. This is what I am seeing in the current market.
Here are a couple that have been refinished. To my eyes they are overpriced, but then they are not selling at this time.
