Why is the Breach opening on a Tank gun and Artillery on the left, but on a rifle or pistol on the right side?
Why is it that the breach opens on the left on tank and artillery gun barrels, meaning that theses weapons are loaded from the left. But on small hand firearms and Rifles it is on the right side of the weapons barrel? Is there any good reason for this? Just wondering.
Well you are partially incorrect. On a tank the loader is positioned to the left of the gun but it opens downward and to the rear. Samll arms are designed for right handed shooters thus open on the right so that is the direction the spent rounds fly out. With the exception of the M9 which ejects more or less straight up and back. Good luck to you
