What type of gun sight is this?
Well in Call of duty 4, The M4A1 Grenadier has a weird red dot sight. It looks like a Holographic but its not. can Someone please tell what it is?
It's a video game sight. That's what kind of sight it is....
I'd bet my right arm that the designers of those games have never actually fired a weapon.
Please don't use games as a learning reference for anything having to do with the military arsenal. Being able to recite all the "equipment" in a video game does not make you a weapons expert.
It simply makes you look like a jackass to anyone who has actually carried a rifle in a uniform.
Many of the keyboard commandos on this site will probably rate me with numerous "thumbs-down" here, but the reality of it is that there is no reality. It is a video game. The fact that the sights on a game resemble any kind of real world optics was simply programmed "1's and 0's" to mimic what someone thought would look "cool" and "military".
Please return to your mother's basement. It's almost bedtime.
EDIT: See? The guy who answered right below me guessed "EOTech Aiming System. EOTech is a brand of optics. The generic use of the word refers to a holographic sight, although they make several different kinds of lasers and optics. Now he too looks like a jackass... At least you're not alone now.
