Where can I buy a bull skull for a film I'm making?
I looked at some taxidermists but skulls are so expensive! I would be up for preparing it and cleaning it if I had to so maybe a butcher or something but I want it to have horns. Could be a cow skull I suppose. Do you think a slaughter house would sell me a decapitated cow/bull skull?
You are definitely correct....just doing a quick check I'm pretty surprised at how expensive they are....and the prices don't even include shipping and handling.
Your best bet looks like it will be eBay. I searched "Bull Skull" there. Quite a few are available (with horns attached) for around $30-$45. Here is a link to the search I did:

I also found a site called Skulls Unlimited where they have a large variety of legally obtained animal skulls. They are pretty expensive, between $185-$365......but they do have a variety of bull skulls (ex. Texas Longhorn). Here is that site:

There is also a site called The American Headhunter that also sells legally obtained animal skulls. They sell different cattle skulls for anywhere between $37.50-$320. Here's that site:

If you're willing to clean the skull youself, it'll likely be a lot cheaper. I can't think of any reason why a butcher or slaughterhouse wouldn't sell you a cow/bull skull. If you're going to try and do it yourself.....here is a step-by-step guide to cleaning animal skulls:

Hope that helps you out! Best of luck with your film.
