My red-eared slider refuses to eat goldfish and appears to be scared. What can I do?
The goldfish grow to be nearly coy size in the large tank! The little one is interested in the little goldfish and attempts to hunt them but the big one will only eat turtle sticks and plants. I know that he needs to be eating more live food (crickets, worms, fish) but whatever I try he doesn't seem to notice when I drop them in the tank.
Avoid goldfish. They are one of the worst things you can feed to a reptile for a variety of reasons. Regular baitfish minnows are fine though.
