The above knife is a survival knife in the sense that it is large enough to hack, chop, baton, and split wood when you need to make a fire. It's too big for carving and the like. But for a chopping knife @ under $50, you also won't find a better knife for the money. When it comes to smaller "bushman" sized knives, any knife you pay good money for will be quality and last forever. There are literally hundreds of thousands of medium sized knives out there that would fit into the "last forever" category, so it's hard to recommend one. You get what you pay for. Gerber Gator knives are good quality for the price.
My favorite flashlight that is compact yet offers multiple lighting options is the Alaskan Guide Flashlights by Cabelas. They can switch between LEDs and Xenon for either long life or bright white light. They are also a bit cheaper than similar lights from quality companies such as Surefire.

[ADD] I assumed that by "torchlight" you were British or Australian, or from New Zealand and that is the same as a flashlight?
