rust on laser engraving of sw1911 pd?
I have a sw1911 pd had brand new for 2 months and laser engraving on left side rusted sent to factory took 3 months to recoat just got it back and have been carrying it for 4 days i think im seeing rust on the engraving again. please help the gun costs like $1200 i dont know if i am cleaning it wrong or what i use hoppes #9 to clean and hoppes elite gun oil every day it is wiped down with one of those yellow winchester clothes from wallyworld i carry it in a leather iwb holster what should i do im about to sell the gun rather than wait 3 months again
if the wipe you are using is silicone impregnated, it is keeping any oil away from the metal surface, by embedding silicone into the valleys of the etching, or engraving, do not use a wipe. use gun oil.
