what is an introductory complete ammunition reloading kit?
I just got a Glock 20 and because of factory prices i would like to get into handloading/reloading. The only rounds i will be handloading or reloading is 7.62x25mm for my CZ52 and 10mm auto for my G20. So is there a COMPLETE reloading kit out there that would come with all the necessary presses, powder scale, priming/de priming tool, powder pourer...etc..? im really not looking to spend over $400 dollars. I think LEE or HORNADY might make kits but are they complete? thanks for all and any information. and yes i realize all the importance of doing research and not over loading rounds. thats why i would be sure to buy a handloading manual. but the kit should come with one
the Lee Challenger kit has every thing but a cartridge length gage & I'm not sure if they still come with a free set of dies like they used to. if not you will have to buy a set of dies for each caliber.
the Lee powder scale that comes with the kit is accurate but it takes a long time to stabilize after you dump the charge in so you will probably eventually buy another powder scale unless you have a lot of patience.
you will need a cartridge length gauge or dial calipers. the calipers are better & you need them for other things anyway.
a bullet puller is something else you will eventually need. the hammer type inertia pullers are cheap & work pretty good.
so yes you can buy a Lee kit with a set of dies & immediately start reloading as long as you crimp in the bullet cannelure & don't want to experiment with the OAL"over all length" of the loaded cartridge.
