what is the difference between a bolt action and a lever action rifle?
is one more accurate than the other, or more powerful??
thanks guys,much appreciated
The essential difference is in the way the bolt is operated and locks into position. It's possible to build a bolt-action stronger, but no sensible person is going to say the 450 Alaskan in a Winchester 71 or 1886 is a weak sister. Likewise, both because of the locking mechanism and more importantly because lever guns tend to have two-piece stocks, they tend to be less accurate than bolt actions, but there are also bolt actions with two-piece stocks. It's best not to over-generalize.
