Mossberg 500 tactical cruiser - sling/swivel studs?
I recently purchased the above shotgun, which comes with a pistol grip. The end cap of the magazine tube is drilled and tapped, but no stud is provided. There is a sling stud provided on the left side of the receiver. I cannot find an aftermarket 3 pt. tactical sling that will work with this set up. Can anyone recommend such a sling, or any sling for that matter? I was told that to truly utilize a 3 pt. tactical sling, you need the ring of the front sling to be on the SIDE, not on the END of the magazine tube. I don't know if it matters, but I also plan on adding a SideSaddle 6-round shell holder on the receiver. Any advice would be appreciated.
That stud you need is common and cheap. Search on Ebay for "Mossberg sling" and you'll find a few. Don't pay more than $3 for it. All gunshops will have them, too, but you'll pay five times as much.
If you want a side attach, you can get a flat metal one that inserts under the takedown screw (the magazine end cap thingy you mentioned). Ebay and same search as above. Or, you can go magazine/barrel clamp instead. Search on "Mossberg clamp".
Me, I like a single point attached to the pistol grip. Hangs it at the right spot on my right side.
