teens, have you ever?
totally embarrassed yourself in front of teammates or something where there was a lot of people?
i have. im a female goalie on an all boys ice hockey team. during one game i went to make a save on an opposing skater and he just ran right over me. he hit me so hard that my head snapped back and hit the crossbar on the net and he landed right on top of me with his knee in my throat. it hurt so bad that i couldnt move. so when the trainers came to check on me i was crying my eyes out. they had to help me off the ice and one of them took my mask off. i had to skate off the ice and im sure everyone in the rink could see me crying. and to make it worse, i had to go past the opposing teams bench and all those guys were staring at me. it was sooooo embarrassing, lol. i had a pretty hard time looking the rest of my team in the eye. but they were pretty cool about it.
At our final track meet, I had a major asthma attack during my race. I had to crawl across the field in front of everyone from the neighboring schools (not to mention my own) and then gasp like a dying fish until my coach thought "ASTHMA ATTACK" and sent people to get my inhaler. They took forever, and then came back empty handed when they couldn't find my bag. Then I got chewed out for not using my inhaler when in fact I had done so a while before my race.
Another time, some poser brought a guitar to school and was "playing" it in my film class to impress people (which means playing the same three power chords over and over). I went in to watch and someone went "This guy looks like he can play, do it" so I tried to decline but they made me take it. I've been playing for six years and I'm comfortable with it, but I was so nervous that I couldn't even keep a hold of the pick and so I hit one chord and handed it back shaking, with tears in my eyes. Everyone gave me the Embarrassed Silence, and then the guy whose guitar it was went and said "If you can't play, don't try" but I couldn't exactly do anything about it.
