Can someone identify this old Mac game for me? Roleplaying/strategy game from the early/mid '90s.?
Basically you were a knight (I think you started as a squire or something and worked your way up) and you would ride around the world (overhead view, not side-scrolling) finding huts/caves/etc. where you could buy various creatures to add to your army. Different creatures had different abilities (e.g., dragons could fly and breath fire, archers and orcs could shoot arrows). Then you'd fight wandering armies and attack enemy castles. The battle game play was a bit like Final Fantasy Tactics (a field where you moved your creatures around and told each group how to attack). If you won a battle you got money. If you were much more powerful than a wandering army they might offer to join you instead of fighting. When you attacked the castles you'd get pieces of a map. There were four worlds, the last one mostly desert. Every week you had to pay money to your armies. You had a certain number of days in which to defeat the final villain. I think the easiest level gave you 900 days.
Sounds a little like Heroes of Might and Magic.
