Has the U.S. Military adopted the M468 assault rifle? The M16 is an alright gun but is getting old. Both M4?
and M16 lag on stopping power. The standard gun for the taliban is the ak-47 and that has better stopping power than the American guns.

The M-16 has JUST recently been updated.
The M-16A2 service rifle is being replaced with the M-16A4.
The M-16A4 has a Mil-Std 1913 Picattiny rail system allowing the weapon operator to install either optics or a carry handle. The A4 model comes with a 1x7 Twist 5.56x45 mike mike HBAR. It is a much beefier and more sturdy design than the A2 model.
Stopping power?
Do you know of anyone that has been hit with 5.56 and lived to tell the tale?
