Cold Steel or another company for quality kukri?
I would like to buy my dad a good, solid, combat (as apposed to survival machete) Kukri. He's a weapons guy and if he was open to a knew big knife to stick on the wall. Since he has a bowie, a Kukri would suit him well. Heard reviews from both sides of the fence on Cold Steel's specialty combat weapons. Either they break too easily and can't hold ad edge or are very good; depending on who I ask. Would their high carbon/combat kukri be a good choice or should I seek a different specific company?
I'm looking to spend around 300-500 dollars, mass produced (from Nepal?) is fine as long as it is good quality. Wouldn't mind it cheaper, but the old saying "you get what you pay for" probably comes in to play. I know the ones the Nepalese military use are "heavy" and have a thick spine.
Sorry if I am spelling "Kukri" wrong. It is how they spell it on Cold Steel's website.
they look legit
