questions about Mosin Nagant rifle?
Just bought a Mosin Nagant surplus rifle. I just have a couple questions. The bayonet fits on the barrel very tight and once i get it on it is very hard to get off, and I mean VERY hard. Is this normal and is there any way to fix it? Also the bolt is pretty stiff, I figure this could just be because of the way the gun is cocked, but is this normal and is there any way to fix it? any help is appreciated.
The bayonet is supposed to fit tight, you wouldnt want it falling off in combat. Plus, Russian soldiers had to keep it on at all times. You need to clean and oil the bolt. Welcome to the mosin owners club.
Clean out the inside of the gun completely. I leave the cosmoline under the stock though.
