Mossberg 500 vs 535....please help?
Went to my local gunstore, looking to get a mossberg 500 field/deer combo, put it on layaway. I want it basically to hunt all game with 12 gauge, deer, turkey, rabbit, dove, etc. I got home double checked my receipt and he gave me the 535 turkey/deer. What is the big difference between these guns? I mean, I can buy the field barrel for the 500, but I dont know if the 535 if really good for the field, or what the differences are besides the 535 takes 3.5 inch and the 500 doesnt. Im really confused on what I should do, if I should cancel my order before I pick it up, or if i still have a good gun waiting for me (bought teh gun for 399 brand new, mossy oak pattern)
To be honest with you, those 3.5'' shells are just useless.
If a 2 3/4'' or a 3'' can't kill it, the the 3.5'' won't do it either. That's a fact (to all of those trying to dispute it). Both are good guns however, and neither one is any better/worse than the other, so you are "set" in that respect.
Get the 500. It is less expensive, and a bit lighter. Go back to the shop and ask why he rang you up for a 535.
That is ridiculous... that guy might've made an honest mistake... or is trying to rip you off.
