What was the name of the guy who refused to leave when Mount St. Helens erupted?
There was an old man who lived in the Cascade mountains. He was an outdoorsman who dwelled inside of a log cabin in the woods. When the geologists came to warn the locals and evacuate the area, he refused to leave. They even had a movie about this elderly gentleman. The character in the film was named Harry Truman. I don't know if he shared the same name as that of a former President in real life, but anything is possible. Was that his actual name, or was it something else? Any help is much appreciated.
You mean that WAS his real name. He died when the volcano erupted. All I remember was Art Carney portraying him in the movie. The character was a senile and stubborn old man. So that was his actual name, huh?
