Handshower Set Trouble Shooting?
Hi Guys,
I have a tub shower with one of those diverters which allow you to pull up the switch thingy that causes the water to go from the tub spout to the shower head. I changed it from a regular shower head to a hand held shower set. I didn't think it was a big deal, grab a wrench and make a quick change. it all went well, except now when i was the diverter it doesn't cleanly divert the water to the hand held shower set. meaning 50% of the water goes to the tub spout and the other 50% goes the hand held shower set. thinking that it was a pressure issue, i disconnected the hose and it still did it. the only thing that i didn't try yet is removing the shower handset mount that came with the new hand held set.
any ideas on whats causing this 50% split? It never did this before my "upgrade". thanks in advance.
the thing is that you have a vacuum breaker integrated within your hose for anti siphon-age, just remove the vacuum breaker and you should be ok, be careful on siphonage when removing the vacuum breaker! (don't leave your hose dangling inside your tub)
look at the very first part of this video, the very first part that the instructor screws on the hose that is a vacuum breaker

good luck
